Learn About German Culture and German-speaking Nations

OUR MISSION

We believe that in learning a new language you learn more about your own culture and country. Learning German offers:

  • Access to new people, places and opportunities through reading, writing and speaking German and by participating in Germanic cultural events.

  • Access to a community and the European continent where German is the leading language and the language of math, science, art and music.

  • Opportunity to stand out among peers with a broad range of experiences that prepare students to become global citizens.

Why a German School in Central New Jersey?

  • The German Language School was formed as the German School of Monmouth County in 2007 by parents with a commitment to international education and the goal of introducing children and adults to today’s German-speaking Europe.  Our program expanded in 2015 to include campuses in Holmdel and Princeton. We are a parent-supported organization open to native and non-native speakers.

  • Each school location offers a variety of flexible program options for families throughout central New Jersey.

  • We are accredited by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) and a member of the German Language School Conference (GLSC).  The German School Language School is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization and does not discriminate by race, color, religion, gender, age, country, or ethnic origin.

Faculty

  • We provide high-quality German instruction to all ages by trained German-speaking teachers using new and adapted teaching methods from Germany.

  • We ensure students hear the proper accent from teachers who are relaxed, confident and comfortable in speaking, reading, and writing German.

We offer customized programs to meet the needs of students and their families from small groups to one-on-one tutoring at our campuses or by appointment.
